Personal
I'm Mark, the founder of this business. It still feels surreal to write that. After finishing college in IT and Business, achieving in both, I made the decision to pause further education. At the time, anxiety and personal circumstances meant continuing wasn’t the right choice. Instead, I entered full-time work and spent the last four years in a warehouse role. That experience helped fund this business, taught me discipline, and played a major role in my personal growth.
Goals
Tora is the Japanese word for Tiger; power, strength, protection. Tora Systems goal is to build and give you the best possible priced computers, competing in a market dominated by people who sell you mismatched parts or with no testing done to the point it overheats running Google Chrome. Every build comes with a build report, temperature validation and benchmark with a 7-day shipping time, guarantee.
Ambitions
My long-term ambition is to develop our own range of electronics that prioritise durability, efficiency, and real value for customers, not inflated profit margins.
Around the world, particularly in the US and China, compact mini PCs are widely available. In the UK, that market is far more limited, in which I see a genuine opportunity to change that. The goal is to design small, efficient systems built around thoughtful engineering rather than excess; that includes exploring recycled materials, such as 3D-printed enclosures made from reclaimed plastics, and designing hardware that is affordable without compromising reliability. Too often, cost-cutting leads to poor quality control and short product lifespans. I believe technology should be built to last. If someone invests in a computer, it should serve them reliably for years, not just until the warranty expires.
That philosophy will guide every product we design; from today’s systems to the custom hardware we plan to build in the future.
